Social Studies Assessment:       Friday, November 2

Finish "Landforms & Water Features" map study guide.  Map study guide must be sharpied, erased, and colored with colored pencils.  The study guide is due Monday, October 22 and will be collected/graded October 24 after the quiz.

Students should finish their dictionary of landforms and water features that was worked on in class.  Students should do column 1 "Term" and draw pictures/illustrations of five of the words.  Any extra words done and all coloring will be extra credit collected/graded on October 24 after the quiz.

There is a quiz on Landforms & Water Features on Wednesday, October 24.  Students should study their map study guides and the reading packet on Landforms and Water Features read, discussed, and highlighted in class. Their dictionary should also be helpful in their studying.

Culture Project due Monday, September 24.  Using the six circle organizer, interview a parent, grandparent, aunt or uncle to determine what their "cultural characteristics" might have looked like when they were your age.  Follow the directions on your organizer sheet using cultural characteristics from the culture sheet you created in class.  Your list should include such topics as favorite music, favorite food, clothing worn, favorite holidays, family celebrations or traditions to name only a few.  Remember "is it ok to belch at the table?" questions and the video on culture.

Also, begin learning the locations and spellings of the seven continents and four oceans for a quiz on Friday, September 28.

Get Quiz signed by parent.  Students who scored below 70%, must retake the quiz.  Students who scored from 70% - 79% may retake the quiz.  For others 80% and above, their current score is a final score and they do not need to retake the quiz.  For those who retake the quiz, the final score will be the highest score of the two quizzes.  Two quizzes will be averaged with a weighting towards the retake score.

QUIZ RETAKE WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 19
